An old fashioned (but not outdated), Bible believing (King James), independent Baptist Church

Beliefs

Our Association

New Life Baptist Church is an old-fashioned, conservative, independent, Bible-believing, Bible-preaching, Baptist Church.

The Bible

We believe the King James Bible is the inspired, perfectly preserved Word of God for English speaking people.  We believe it is without error and was given by inspiration of God (Psalm 12:6-7; Hebrews 4:12; II Timothy 3:16).

The Trinity

We believe in the eternal God existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (I John 5:7).  Although they are separate, they are one Godhead (Acts 17:29).

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ existed in eternity past as the Son of God, came down to this earth and was born of a virgin and lived a perfectly sinless life.  We believe he is God in the flesh (Matthew 1:18-23; John 1:1, 14).

The Salvation of Man

We believe that man is born with a sin nature and is in need of salvation which is only possible by repentance toward Christ and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ who died on the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for man’s sin.  There is no act or work that man can do to gain salvation.  Salvation is by grace through faith alone (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).

The Eternal Security of the Believer

We believe that every person who turns to Christ in faith is sealed with the Holy Spirit and is eternally secure in their salvation.  Man did not do anything to get saved and therefore he cannot do anything to keep or lose salvation (John 10:27-29; Philippians 1:6).

The Importance of the Local Church

We believe that every believer should join and faithfully attend the services of a local, Bible-believing church.  This is important for fellowship and growth (Psalm 92:13; Ephesians 4:11-13; I Timothy 3:15; Hebrews 10:25).

The Holy Ghost

We believe that every believer has the Holy Spirit living within them as evidenced by Scripture, not by any subjective feelings or experiences (Ephesians 1:13-14).

The Responsibility of Every Believer

We believe that every person who has received the free gift of salvation has a biblical responsibility to live a consistent life of godliness and personal holiness (I Corinthians 6:19-20; 10:31).

The Rapture of the Church

We believe in the imminent visible return of Jesus Christ to gather every believer (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Tuts 2:13).
